Carlos Correia, President

Carlos is president of NFPA Global Solutions™, leading efforts to advance safety with new offerings via both acquisition and organic creation of businesses, with a focus on compliance solutions, advisory services, and digital technologies. He is the former NFPA vice president of Strategic Initiatives. Previously, Carlos was vice president and general manager of Assets and Sustainability Performance at Underwriters Laboratories (UL), where he oversaw the company’s digital and consulting business focusing on energy transition, healthy buildings, sustainability, and health and safety. In his 30-year executive career, Carlos led global businesses in the Energy, Electrical, Technology, Industrial, and Built Environment sectors. He drove aggressive growth strategies through customer centricity, innovation, and more than 30 acquisitions. Carlos is a board member of the C2C Product Innovation Institute, mentoring startups on Energy & Climate-Tech in the mHUB and Plug-and-Play incubator centers. He has a broad global perspective having worked in Europe, Asia, and the U.S. and speaks four languages.

Paul DeFronzo, Chief Financial Officer

Paul is the chief financial officer of NFPA Global Solutions™, responsible for all the company’s financial functions, including accounting, financial reporting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, and integrations. Previously, Paul spent 5 years at NFPA as vice president and chief financial officer. With more than 30 years’ experience in financial management, business leadership, and corporate strategy in various financial services organizations, Paul has helped transform organizations maximizing growth organically and inorganically.

Paul earned his MBA from Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School and his BS in accounting from Bentley University. While Paul has served as a director on various boards in the past, he is quite proud of his volunteerism and serves on the board of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell as their treasurer.

 

Steven Scala, Chief Corporate Development Officer

Steven is chief corporate development officer for NFPA Global Solutions™. Steve formerly served as NFPA vice president of Corporate Development, where he was responsible for creating the NFPA strategy for inorganic growth to support NFPA’s mission of reducing loss from fire and other hazards. Steve brings more than 30 years of global business experience having worked at IBM, GE, and an E-commerce start-up which he sold to private equity. Steve has held several international leadership roles in sales, marketing, general management, engineering, and corporate development and has led numerous buy and sell side engagements. Steve earned his master’s degree in management science from the University of South Florida and his BS in management information systems from Southern New Hampshire University.

Doug Lockard, Chief Commercial Officer

Doug is the chief commercial officer of NFPA Global Solutions™, responsible for driving revenue generation and business growth. Prior to joining NFPA Global Solutions, Doug spent 25 years performing global commercial leadership roles in the testing and certification industry for Element Materials Technology, Underwriters Laboratories (UL), and Intertek. He was involved in multiple acquisitions and integrations and implemented strategies targeting aggressive growth, crafting solutions for Fortune 500 companies that required digital technology adoption, energy use optimization, chemical risk management, and various consulting services. As a result, he spent significant time abroad globalizing businesses by creating and building teams in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Doug earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Dayton, did MBA work at Villanova University, and participated in a year-long executive education program with Yale University.

 

Rob Keogh, Managing Director for Evaluation Services

Rob is the managing director for evaluation services of NFPA Global Solutions™, responsible for leading the development and execution of the growth strategy for the compliance solutions business. Rob brings more than 25 years of operations and leadership experience in the testing, inspection and certification (TIC) space, including industry sectors such as electrical, building materials, fire equipment, and life safety and security. Prior to joining NFPA, he was the director of M&A integration and business operations for the Software and Advisory business at UL Solutions. Rob earned his MBA from DePaul’s Kellstadt School of Business and his BS in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).

Andrew Krumpelt, General Counsel

Andrew is the General Counsel for NFPA Global Solutions™, focusing on M&A transactions and corporate matters. He brings over 30 years of in-house counsel experience with extensive exposure to cross-cultural dynamics and international business practices. Andrew has served as primary legal support for over 50 M&A transactions and integrations across Europe, Asia, Latin America, and North America. Before joining NGS, he worked for NewCold, Voesalpine, UL Solutions, and Allied. Andrew earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Washington University and his BA from the University of Chicago.
